This amazing large-flowered series will keep flowering all winter long, and well into the summer months.
It is known for being a very hardy variety (to around -25C!), so will withstand even the worst of the winter weather, whatever is thrown at it.
This breathtaking variety produces endless waves of simply gorgeous flowers in shades of golden yellow, violet, mauve, berry purple and white – for months on end – hence the name ‘Fragrant Waterfall ‘!
They will cascade over the sides of hanging baskets and planters, providing a splash of zingy colour even in the dull days of winter.
Smothered in big, traditional pansy flowers, this vigorous trailer is set to make its mark on gardens everywhere – it’s a real breeding breakthrough for much better performance in hanging baskets.
Supplied as 12 jumbo plugs, ready to plant.
Care Information
Planting Advice for your Pansy Cool Wave:
- Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
- If you can’t do this, they can sit in a mini greenhouse for a week if upright and not too wet.
- Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.
- Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as on a windowsill or in a greenhouse.
- When potting on, handle plugs carefully. Pot on using our 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays, using good multi-purpose compost.
- Alternatively, plant straight into baskets and grow on for a week or two before hanging up.
- Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry. They don’t like to be left in standing water.
Aftercare advice for Cool Wave Pansy:
- Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous baskets that last the whole season.
- Check and water baskets every day in summer, (unless the compost is wet).
- Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
- From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.
Pruning and Trimming advice for pansies:
- Deadhead and trim your plants regularly to maintain shape and encourage new flowers.
- Do not allow plants to set seed.
